Today was a fantastic day – the sun was shining, successfully resolved an issue at work, played with a RC helicopter, and had a wonderful dinner with my favorite guy. I was/am feeling a little under the weather this evening, but hope to be back to 100% tomorrow for two reasons: 1) I’m picking up Electra in the morning and b) It’s the next Birmingham Dance Walk! I cannot wait for this one as we have a surprise guest coming. If you’ve seen the tweets and Facebook posts, you might already know. If not, a clue is below. See you tomorrow at 1 p.m. on 2nd Avenue North by Urban Standard.

Internet Woes
Our internet is flaking in and out so I’m going to make this short and sweet to get it in. Today kicked my butt in most every aspect, but I survived and PREVAILED! Stressful day at work (but good, busy, and I’m very thankful), and 2 workouts at Iron Tribe after. To say I’m done is an understatement. I still can’t believe the amazing outpouring for the bike and it’s still coming. I posted an update to it late last night and you can check it out here: http://www.youcaring.com/help-a-neighbor/Birthday-Wish-A-Bike-/39870
I will leave you with some wonderful words…this really is the good life.
“Good Life”
by One Republic
Found myself in the city near Piccadilly
Don’t really know how I got here
I got some pictures on my phoneNew names and numbers that I don’t know
Address to places like Abbey Road
Day turns to night, night turns to whatever we want
We’re young enough to say
Oh this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life
Say oh, got this feeling that you can’t fight
Like this city is on fire tonight
This could really be a good life
A good, good life
To my friends in New York, I say hello
My friends in L.A. they don’t know
Where I’ve been for the past few years or so
Paris to China to Colorado
Sometimes there’s airplanes I can’t jump out
Sometimes there’s bullshit that don’t work now
We all got our stories but please tell me-e-e-e
What there is to complain about
When you’re happy like a fool
Let it take you over
When everything is out
You gotta take it in
Oh this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life
Say oh, got this feeling that you can’t fight
Like this city is on fire tonight
This could really be a good life
A good, good life
Hopelessly
I feel like there might be something that I’ll miss
Hopelessly
I feel like the window closes oh so quick
Hopelessly
I’m taking a mental picture of you now
‘Cause hopelessly
The hope is we have so much to feel good about
Oh this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life
Say oh, got this feeling that you can’t fight
Like this city is on fire tonight
This could really be a good life
A good, good life
Oh yeah
Good, good life
Good life
Ooh
Listen

Monday Funday (Thank You!)
I’ve had the most wonderful day. It started with glitter hair spray (again) and gold glitter ballet flats. Those just put a gal in a great mood, ready to take on whatever the world might throw her way on a Monday. Then I received an email notification that my dad had contributed to my Birthday Bike-O-Rama Begathon. WOO HOO! Thank you, Daddy-O! You have no idea how much I appreciate the support and love – I know you’d rather me try out a cheaper bike to make sure I like it and it’s going to “stick” – as any parent would. But, even with that logical concern, he donated and proved, once again, that he’s Father of the Year. After that, quite a few of my wonderful friends followed suit like Mary Jean, Randall, Robin, Wade, Jennifer, and Clair not to mention Cyndi, Bill, Lauren, Erika, Suzy, and Emily who kicked things off. My heart is about to burst from the love I am radiating and the gratefulness I am feeling right now. Not to mention that I did 2 workouts today so am pretty shredded and STILL feeling wonderful inside and out. Thank you! I will post more about the workouts and weight on Weight Lost Wednesday, but it’s going very well. And the bike momentum is definitely pushing me even harder to GET FIT and RIDE THAT BIKE! If you would like to contribute, here is the link: http://www.youcaring.com/help-a-neighbor/Birthday-Wish-A-Bike-/39870
Any money raised over the bike and helmet costs will be donated to the Crisis Center of Birmingham, one of the most wonderful organizations in our city.
Hugs to you. Sweetest dreams!

Weekend Fun
Wonderful day of reading, snuggling, cleaning, purging, writing, learning, laughing, eating, bowling, skee balling, racing, and loving. Special shout outs to Bill, Cyndi, Suzy, and Lauren for donating to the Bike-O-Rama Birthday Blowout. I appreciate it more than you know and am excited to bring her home one day and, more importantly, ride her all over town! 🙂 If you have $10 you can spare and want to help a friend out for her birthday, I would love to add you to the list and make you something very special. You can find all the details, see a picture of her, and make a donation here: http://www.youcaring.com/help-a-neighbor/Birthday-Wish-A-Bike-/39870
More tomorrow about the amazing weekend, what I learned today at my See Jane Write workshop, and the new fun place we found today. Until then,
Love yourself.
